CSS Front End Web Developer (NYC Area Telecommunting)

We are high-end online advertising shop specializing in the creation of web sites, kiosks, Flash animations, iPad and iPhone applications, and other interactive projects.

Position: CSS, JavaScript, HTML, Front-end UI developer (Flash a big plus) – freelance for several months
Location: OFF-SITE! You can work at home and communicate with the rest of the team via email and Skype.
Status: Freelance
Estimated Duration: Several months, perhaps years. We are looking for a freelancer who can work with our company on a regular basis for months/years to come.

Job Description:
- We have a wide variety of projects and need someone who is willing to work on a wide variety of projects and mediums. One day you might be working on gaming web site, and the next you’ll be creating trivia game for an iPad.
- We are looking for someone who can regularly dedicate 10-40 hours per week with short timelines and quick turn-around, but also large projects which are planned ahead of time. Work is steady but the amount of hours can vary from week to week.
- This job would best suit to someone who does CSS/Front-end work on a full-time freelance basis and is looking for an additional client who can provide them continuous work.
- As stated above, all work is done off-site and can be done completely virtually. Must be available via standard business hours (9-6 EST) during the week for meetings, code reviews, project reviews, and so forth.

What We Expect:
We can provide to you a fully designed web site within a layered Photoshop document and you can turn that into fully functioning web site design with all necessary CSS, JS, templates, and modules ready for final content. Any/all rollovers, drop-down menus, custom JS scripts, and forms should work perfectly and across all browsers. If this is what you can deliver on a regular basis then we are interested in talking to you.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, CSS, HTML and JavaScript usage (i.e. jQuery modification and implementation)
- Must be comfortable working with web sites created in Ruby on Rails and MySQL or other SQL-based relational databases
- In-depth knowledge of cross-browser limitation, capability, and HTML/CSS quirks (especially IE7)
- Experience with Facebook, iPhone/iPad web site development
- Flash/CS3 development a big plus (and potentially additional work)
- Strong conceptual and technical knowledge of basic design principles (typography, color, layout, motion, etc.)
- Attention to detail and has the ability to take a layered Photoshop document and turn it into a fully functionality web site design
- Organized, able to act independently, as well as to multi-task with current projects in a fast-paced environment.
- No overseas developers, must be located on the East Coast.
