Job Description:

Cost Accountant/Analyst opening in Newark, NJ (direct hire)-work from home with occassional meetings in office

Pay: up to $60K; great benefits

As the detail oriented Cost Accountant/Analyst, you will plan, study, and collect data to determine fully loaded project/product/service costs while performing the following duties:
· Analyze and report on same to the Executive team
· Determine Life Cycle cost of products and services
· Provide verification for ROI for all purchases of IT equipment and software, report on results after implementation of approved programs and purchases
· Analyze data being collected and ensure time is recorded accurately
· Analyze projected changes in product design and services provided to ensure continual incremental process improvement and cost reductions in all areas
· Ensure all development and internal projects have positive ROI
· Analyze actual service, support, enablement, development, product management, marketing and other costs and prepare periodic reports comparing actual results to budget/plan and/or standard
· Record cost information and provide reports to control expenditures
· Analyze operating reports to ensure compliance with accounting principles and cost control objectives
· Analyze competitive product prices and ensure our pricing is consistent with being the dominant software and service provider vs the competition
· Provide management with reports comparing profitability of products and services
· Develop and maintain Cost Accounting System
· Assist in Month end close of the General Ledger

Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Management Engineering or Industrial Engineering
· 2+ solid years of Cost Accounting in Software and/or Consulting Services
· Strong Cost systems background and excellent analytical skills
· Solid understanding of accounting principals
· Exceptionally strong Excel skills, some knowledge of Word & SharePoint
· Experience with MAPICS a plus
· Experience working in a collaborative environment
· Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
