Children’s TV Development Director (King County) [WA]
[Organization], a 501©(3) non-profit organization and the Northwest’s up-and-coming premier provider of commercial-free educational children’s television, is seeking a part-time experienced Development Director, to join the core team.
The Development Director will provide leadership, strategic initiative and management of all fundraising efforts. The director will devise, recommend and execute cultivation and solicitation strategies for a select group of donors and prospects while managing an effective program for recognition, involvement and stewardship of major and special gifts donors. The position is responsible for high donor retention and increased involvement and support. This includes maintaining relationships via personal contact, broad correspondence and cultivation events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Spearhead efforts to identify and obtain individual angel donors, corporate and foundation contributions for LLL sponsorships
- Track funding opportunities, produce proposals and sponsorship invitations
- Develop and execute an external relations strategic plan to raise the profile and visibility of [Org.] (PR – with help from internal support staff)
- Oversee the maintenance of proposal development tools and marketing products
- Coordinate and manage special fundraising events
Requirements – Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree or business/sales or related field.
- A proven professional with 2+ years experience in non-profit fund development, including proven success in sales/fundraising.
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising practices and principles
- Comfortable with public speaking and communicating with diverse audiences
- Independent and detail-oriented, with excellent follow-through and communication skills
- Creative, energetic and passionate about excellence and teamwork
- Strong oral and presentation-level communication skills
- Excellent writing, editing and proof-reading skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and collegiality in a small team
- Ability to plan and work independently
- Superior organizational and interpersonal skills
- Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; experience with fundraising databases preferred
- Outgoing personality, flexible, resourceful and with a sense of humor
This is an independent contract position, flexible, part-time position, salary DOE.
