An opportunity currently exists for an AXIS Modeling Analyst to join the Individual Insurance Valuation team.
Working under the direction of the Director of Actuarial Projects, the AXIS Modeling Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the AXIS models produce accurate results, for making enhancements to the models to reflect ever increasing internal and external needs, and will play a key role in ensuring a secure production environment.

This position will be located in Waterloo.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Improving the efficiency of the ongoing basis change processes.
* Incorporating outstanding issue logs into the AXIS models
* Regularly validating the accuracy of the various of the various AXIS models and providing evidence of the validation to management
* Adding functionality to and around the AXIS models to enhance the security of the system
* Investigate and determine issues stemming from the models, such as unexpected reserve changes

Qualifications

* High level of AXIS knowledge required
* Post-secondary education in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of the terminology and concepts of actuarial reserves
* Strong programming and analytical skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills/strong team player
* Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
* Ability to meet varying deadlines in a project focused work environment
